Ampac

Overview

Ampac manufacture several fire-detection and evacuation control systems used across small sites through to large networked facilities. In the field you’ll most often see Fire Finder (addressable/networkable), FireFinder Plus (modern addressable/networked), LoopSense (compact addressable), ZoneSense (conventional/local), EV3000 (OWS/EWIS), and EvacU (stand‑alone OWS). These panels commonly integrate to external EWIS/OWS amplifiers via supervised zone monitors and provide flexible cause‑and‑effect programming, relays, and programmable inputs/outputs.

Rule of thumb: FireFinder for legacy or replacement sites; FireFinder Plus for medium–large modern jobs; LoopSense for small to medium sites; ZoneSense for simple conventional systems; EV3000 for occupant warning and intercom functions; EvacU for small stand‑alone OWS setups or panel‑integrated systems.

FireFinder

FireFinder is a multi microprocessor-controlled intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel. Modular in design, it provides flexibility and versatility that can be configured to operate with both intelligent analogue addressable and conventional devices in one system.

Available in single or multiple loop configurations, the FireFinder supports the leading Apollo XP95 and Discovery detector protocols. The Ampac ConfigManager software tools provide a powerful combination with the FireFinder to configure the system operational and functional characteristics of an installation.

⚠️ Note: The FireFinder is now obsolete, and parts are no longer manufactured for this panel.

EV3000 Emergency Warning & Intercom System

The EV3000 Occupant Warning and Intercom System is designed to enable the orderly evacuation of occupants from a building or structure in the event of an emergency.

The system comprises two sub-systems: the Emergency Warning System (EWS) and the Emergency Intercom System (EIS). While these have separate controls, they coexist within a single panel that is logically presented and aesthetically pleasing.

The EWS uses speakers strategically placed around the site to broadcast ALERT and/or EVACUATION signals or public address announcements. It can be automatically initiated or manually operated. When not in use for emergencies, the EV3000 can also broadcast background music or general paging announcements.

The EIS provides communication between the Emergency Control Panel (ECP) and Warden Intercom Phones (WIP) positioned throughout the building.

For larger sites, multiple EV3000 control panels can be connected via a communication bus.

⚠️ Note: As of January 2024, the EV3000 panels have been made obsolete.
